A lady who recently received the cow in Girinka Decentralization program

 A government Program ‘Girinka Munyarwanda’ that facilitates poor families to get cows has been a success in Ruhango district where 80 cows have already been distributed to poor and vulnerable residents in 2013/2014 fiscal year.

The district intends to give out 120 cows to the poor residents in the financial year 2013/2014.

Girinka Decentralization Program is the promotion of Girinka Program that was initiated by President Paul Kagame in 2006.

It is a poverty reduction program that aims at developing people socially and economically through provision of milk and manure as well as income.

Ruhango district has already distributed 5, 457 cows in Girinka program with the people upholding the main condition of this program ever since the initiative started.

Béatrice Muhutukazi is a mother in Bumbogo village in Nyamagana cell in Ruhango sector who lived in poverty before getting a cow in Girinka program. She testifies to the positive changes she experienced ever since she received the cow.

The list of people to receive cows is prepared in the local people’s council in every cell so as to be able to pick poor people as number one condition.
